About this Romania Group Tour
This is a shared tour for a small group of travelers (3 to 6) and it can also be organized as a private tour for a different group size.
Children of at least 12 years old can join. If you have younger children and would like to take this tour, it is better to have it as a private tour.
The tour starts and ends in Cluj Napoca (not Bucharest) which is the second largest city in Romania and has an airport well connected to many European cities and has many connections to other continents through airlines like Lufthansa, Swissair, Turkish, LOT.
Included Services – Romania Group Tour
- Local tour guide services of an English-speaking guide for 7 days.
- Accommodation for 8 nights in a double room (with private bathroom), breakfast included:
- 2 nights in Cluj at a 3* central hotel
- 5 nights at rural guesthouses in Maramureș (2 nights) and Transylvania (Viscri or Criț, 3 nights)
- 1 night in Sibiu at a 4* hotel
The main differences between a hotel and a rural guesthouse are:
- Guesthouses are usually owned and run by a local family and are located in a small village.
- The food offered is traditional dishes with a set menu (no à la carte).
- Rooms and bathrooms are usually simple and small (hairdryer may be missing or plug in the bathroom, no AC).
- Rooms are not serviced every day.
- There is no bar or 24h reception.
- Internet usually works in the dining room and in some, but not all, of the rooms.
- Rooms are very comfortable and clean, offering a more authentic Romanian experience.
- Meals: 5 dinners (fixed menus usually include a soup or starter, main dish, dessert, and a drink) and 1 wine tasting.
- Transfers along the itinerary by sedan/SUV car for up to 3 people or minivan for 4-6 people.
- 1 horse cart ride of about 2 hours.
- Airport transfers on arrival and departure days.
- Visits to craftsmen and workshops mentioned in the itinerary.

- Meals except the ones included

Prices, Payment and Cancellations
- The price is for a group of 3 to 7 people.
- The price is calculated for payment done through bank transfer or Wise.com. Payment is also possible through credit card or PayPal, in this case an additional 5.5% will be added to cover the transaction fees.
- Payments:
- Down payment of 800 EUR/person to confirm the spot.
- Due amount to be paid 35 days before the tour start date.
- If canceling participation in the tour, the following penalties apply:
- No penalties if cancelled/postponed before making the first down payment.
- 50% of the down payment if cancelled/postponed after making the first down payment and up to 46 days before the tour start date.
- 100% of the down payment if cancelled/postponed 31–45 days before the tour start date.
- 35% of the total if canceling 16–30 days before the tour start date.
- 50% of the total if canceling 8–15 days before the tour start date.
- 65% of the total if canceling 3–7 days before the tour start date.
- 80% of the total if canceling 2 days or less before the tour start date.
- These amounts will be non-refundable in case of later cancellation (even due to COVID-related matters, travel restrictions, or health issues).
- If we don’t have at least 3 people signed up 90 days before the tour start date, we will return the money you have paid. Please book flights which are refundable or book them after this date. Alternatively, we can discuss the option of having a private tour and the price for it.
